Value: 120 Crore | The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC has invited bidders for redevelopment of Cidco bus stand at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore.
The work will be part of the MSRTC’s statewide initiative to redevelop some of its bus terminals with private participation. The objective is better infrastructure facilities with enhanced services and amenities to meet commuter need, the MSRTC has stated. The tender was issued on June
1 and the last date for bid submission is July 1. The plan envisages redevelopment of bus port with commercial facilities through public sector participation on design, build, finance, transfer
and lease basis. The project will include development of facilities like bus station and depot with sub- structures. The commercial wing to be developed over an area of 32,825 square feet can include retail, offices and multiplex, the tender document says.
The MSRTC will invest only in the form of land. The agency roped in for the project will have to bear the entire cost of construction and will also pay cash premium to the MSRTC. After completion of the project the developer will hand over the project to the MSRTC without any cost. The project has two parts -- one is raising infrastructure for the use of MSRTC free of cost and the other is raising infrastructure for commercial use. Over an area of 16,412 sq.ft. the successful bidder will have to build bus station, lodging and boarding, banquet hall, workshop, bus depot office, crew rest rooms, staff gymkhana, medical facilities and conference hall. This infrastructure will be used by the MSRTC.
The agency can build facilities like multiplex, shopping complex and other amenities. This infrastructure built for commercial use has to be handed over to the MSRTC after completion of the lease period. The operation, maintenance and cleanliness of facilities for the entire
project will be done by the agency that takes up the project.
